What do we think about when we hear the word success? Big cars, bigger homes, good ratings, promotions?
Success is much more than those things. Success is simply a thought we have.
Success is merely a thought. We just have to re-define how we see success and we will see that it is achievable.
Success is being able to do what one has set out to do; no matter how small or supposedly insignificant, in the eyes of others; is success in its essence. Success means doing the best we can with what we have.
Success is the doing, not the getting; in the trying, not the triumph.
Success is a personal standard, reaching for the highest that is in us, becoming all that we can be…. How to achieve it?
Tell me, how many times did we wake up not knowing what to do for the rest of the day? Make the break, its time to change…. So what are we waiting for? Don’t wait until everything is just right. It will never be perfect. There will always be challenges, obstacles and less than perfect conditions. So what. We have to start now. With each step we take, we will grow stronger and stronger, more and more skilled, more and more self-confident and more and more successful.
So the first step is Think On Paper. Most important, is what our definition of success is? What do we want and not what our parents or society? It is really up to an individual to fix own definition of success. In fact, it is imperative that we do so to give ourselves the right direction in life. Once we have decided what it is that we really want in life, we would not be bothered by what others think of us.
It is extremely liberating experience – we become free from others’ yardstick. We have to focus on our goals.
If scaling Mount Everest is what we deem as success, then who cares about that promotion at work. Of course having a successful career could also be one of our ideas of success.
We just have to prioritize and decide what is at the top of our list. Only then can we work out how much effort and time we would like to devote to each of our endeavor. When we do what we truly enjoy, we would naturally be happy. Yes, being happy is one of success’s criteria, albeit the most underrated one. And for some people, just living a happy life is success itself.
Once we have that figure work backwards and determine HOW you’re going to get to that figure. In other words, what do we have to do TODAY to make your goal for that month? Plan Your Day Ahead.
Stop yourself and realize that it’s only success and its partners “responsibility” and “change” that you’re really afraid of. Once we know our enemies then you can overcome them with ease. So, what can you do to reach that goal, starting today? At least have a goal and aim for it Wasting time is the excuse of unsuccessful people. Making important things happen is the attitude of people clothed with success If you don’t have goals, dreams or aspirations, then how are you going to achieve anything? Having something to aim for in life or business is the first step to being successful. e.g if you never plan to paint that kitchen, then that kitchen just won’t ever get painted.
Success breeds success, apathy only breeds more apathetic people sitting on the fence. Eat The Biggest & Ugliest Frogs FIRST – Try Try and just don’t give up. Persisting is not difficult when you start something. It’s not difficult when things are going fine. In fact, that’s not really persisting. The word ‘to persist’ becomes relevant only when the situation you’re in has become difficult and a part of you (or the complete you) wants to give up. At that moment, at that moment only, you take a critical decision: to go on or to give up. Don’t delay and develop a sense of urgency –
Success means having the courage to stick to one’s conviction in the face of opposition or even ridicule. In fact, the hardest of all is to constantly reaffirm oneself of one’s belief – that our definition of success is the one that matters. Success is a positive habit. Start doing what you need to do today and every day and pretty soon it becomes a POSITIVE HABIT. You will get better and more efficient at what you do and more successful as you develop better work habits. Success is triumphing over countless “failures” (I prefer to call them setbacks.) and not giving up.
Success is a great motivator no matter how small those successes are. As every success acts as a building block, a catalyst, so that once your goal is reached, you set another higher goal and now channel your energies and efforts towards that new goal. Many fail completely by setting unattainable goals or goals beyond their reach at that precise moment in time. By setting smaller more achievable goals you grow forward with more confidence. No one tries to climb a ladder by making the first step half way up do they, no; one rung at a time, and soon your ultimate goal will be reached with ease.
“Midas Touch” tells about a story of a legendary king given by a god with the power to transform whatever he laid hand into gold. It almost ended tragically by accidentally turning his daughter into gold. Living with success is an art of discipline and determination. It’s not failure we’re afraid of, it’s actually success.” Most people simply failed to grasp the fuller implications, of what they could actually achieve for themselves, simply by having a desire to be successful.
Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful
“Take up one idea. Make that one idea your life – think of it, dream of it, live on that idea. Let the brain, muscles, nerves, every part of your body, be full of that idea, and just leave every other idea alone. This is the real way to success….
